Open car parks bake in the Nagercoil sun. A solar carport turns that space into shaded parking and a power plant at the same time — ideal for hospitals, schools, colleges, offices, showrooms and apartment complexes.
What is a solar carport?
A solar carport is an elevated steel structure with solar panels as its roof. Cars park underneath in the shade, while the panels feed the building through an on-grid or hybrid inverter. It uses space you already own, without touching the main roof.
Benefits for businesses and institutions
- Cooler cars and protection from rain, bird droppings and sun damage.
- Daytime power for the building — where most commercial electricity is used.
- A ready location for future EV chargers.
- A visible sign of your commitment to clean energy.
Engineering matters
A carport is a structure first. It must handle wind loads near the coast, vehicle clearance, safe drainage and corrosion. Solar Harvezt is part of RK Groups with RK Constructions, and our Director is a chartered and structural engineer — we design carports and elevated structures with proper foundations and galvanised steel.
As a rough guide, one car space (about 2.5 m × 5 m) can hold about 3–4 kW of panels.
